Which DL media should I get?

Postby smapdi on Thu Apr 21, 2005 8:50 pm

Hey all, I was looking at meritline.com and their small number of DL media. I was wondering which would be the best/most compatible to get for my PX-716A.

Thanks.

If price isn't an issue.. then Verbatim is probably your best choice.

I think Ritek works alright in the Plextor PX-716a, but Verbatim is by far the better media :)

Yeah, its one of the few drives where it does work alright.

Hmm, I should have added that compatibility with other dvd drives is also an issue. But so far it looks like I'm getting some Verbatim discs.

Another question: Can regular PC DVD-ROM drives read DL media or no?

It really depends on the drive. I've found that most newer drives can, at least if you set the book type to DVD-ROM.
