Napster Burn Prob's after using clean tool/win. burn engine

Postby b_atkinson on Tue Feb 01, 2005 11:16 pm

I used the clean tool with nero and it disabled 4 conflicting drivers. I also found that windows burn engine is disabled. I then tried to burn a cd from napster and it says that I need to reinstall napster because sotware to burn is not there. It uses roxio burn software. I suppose that one of the two above caused the problem. How do I get it working again?

Update: I just started burning from windows media player and it appears to be working. I don't follow the logic here. If windows burn engine is disabled how is it burning from windows media player?

Update, it worked burning from Windows media player. It also works from nero copy cd. However, napster doesn't work. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help,
Brad

did you reinstall napster ?

if it uses Roxio burning engine, then personally i wouldn't use it.

Reasoning for not using roxio just for Napster use?

Postby b_atkinson on Wed Feb 02, 2005 11:43 am

I don't plan to use roxio for anything other than Napster. However, I have to download using napster and then burn from windows media player or use nero to burn the cd. Will having the roxio burn driver for napster cause problems?

MP3 encoder

Postby b_atkinson on Wed Feb 02, 2005 12:02 pm

I checked out napster and if I didn't have the MP3 encoder then they detail how to get it by updating. I am thinking that I probably deleted/deactivated it when I used nero clean tool.
Will reinstalling the MP3 encoder "only" likely cause problems with nero?
Thanks,
Brad

it might!

it might. though it shouldn't, but these things happen sometimes.

why don't you simply choose one application for burning and stick with that, simpler all around.

best recommendation i can give you is: try.
if everything works fine with everything installed (nero, roxio, napster etc) no problem, and good for you.
it things don't work out get rid of some of the stuff, for example keep only Nero for burning.

Napster no longer works after clean tool, etc.

Postby b_atkinson on Sun May 01, 2005 7:20 pm

I have never figured this problem out. I used the clean tool some time ago. I have reinstalled Napster. It still doesn't work. I checked and unchecked windows burn engine under recording on my cd/rw drive. That didn't fix it. Napster has left me hanging. How do fix this? I can't burn using napster now that I have nero working correctly. Please help.
Thanks,
Brad

I usually avoid Roxio like the plague. Just use Nero and be done with it. I know it might be a little less convenient at first, but it'll be worth it in the long run.
