I am planning to go to BB this afternoon and buy both +/- of these 16X Verbatim just to try it on Aopen 1616 and make sure that both +/- will be burned at 16X. I will let you know.

BTW: I bought four pack of MaXell DVD+R they are made in Japan but the -R were made in Taiwan, I didn't buy them.

etp; Here it is: The following is burning process of DVD-R from Verbatim (16X speed) used by AOpen 1608@1616. Note 1608 has 8X burning for DVD-R and 1616 has 16X.

etp; On DVD+R side the drive (AOpen 1608@1616) took exact 9:32 Minutes to burn a 4.38 GB DVD movie with max burning speed reaching at the end of process barely to 12X using Verbatim 16X DVD disk. The DVD+R burning side of the drive is nt that promising look like the DVD-R side originally 8X with 1608 and now 16X with modded 1616 is more faster reaching easily above 14X.
