Best DVD copy software

Postby mikepraba on Mon May 23, 2005 1:53 am

hello all. I know we talk alot about dvd hardware. But not enough of softwares. I have almost used all major softwares like clonedvd, 1 clickdvd copy, intervideo instant dvd, DVD fab clonedvd2 and more. I still cant find a clear winner here. Clonedvd2 is fast and with lots of options like audio options(DTS,DOLBY) and subtitle sub picctures. However, the quality doesnt seem (compression) like the best.
Does any expert her can tell us, what is the best software to compress and burn single layer dvds? I like to compress and create the dvd folder and then burn with Gear pro mastering software. Let me hear some words of wisdom here Keep it coming

well copy movie needs to be refined in your question

but also this isn't a piracy forum, so you have to be using the backups for legitimate backups

having said that, i use dvdshrink matched with dvd decrypter

doesn't fail me, and is an awesome FREE program package to use

There are discussions regarding "what's best" on:
www.videohelp.com
www.doom9.org
www.dvdshrink.info
www.cdfreaks.com

The best solution is to reencode but a transcoder can do very well.
My general rule is:if I have to compress >30% I split to two DVD's,if <30% I use one.
I agree with hoxlund,I'm very happy with DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink.
