I still remember when these things went for $300+

I have no idea why it says $218 in Pricegrabber. Click on the link for buydig and it will bring up the $164 price.

$129 shipped from buy.com for the liteon DVD recorder! Got a $30 coupon! Should I jump on this?
Sounds like a great deal. Or is something better coming out that is worth the price difference.

I guess none of them have a componant input!

Why on earth would you want a LiteOn standalone recorder?

Badly made, unreliable, poorly-featured and low-grade picture/sound.

Good point! If I did it over again I would have went to Wal-Mart and bought a $98 -R only recorder. But so far the 5005 works as advertised and I have flashed it with the current FW!
If it lasts then it was a good buy!

PS/ the pro scan picture is fine on my unit! We shall see if it lasts
