Using Windows Media PLayer v8.0

Postby patmac on Tue Jul 05, 2005 11:04 am

Hello,
I'm not very happy with WMP for burning music CDs, is this a fairly common feeling or is it seomthing going on with my machine?
While recording, and selecting music/albums from the media library, or even when having it read a CD in the drive, WMP hangs, stalls, locks up.
All other programs on my machine work fine, this is the only one that I need to end task on to get out of ( not all the time ).
I have a 2.0Ghz machine, plenty of space, 1G RAM, running Win XP Home, WMP v8.0
Should I just get Nero instead of trying to figure this out?
Thanks for your time,
patmac

thanks hoxlund, one other question please....the only nero i see on the shelves ( best buy! ) is the ultra edition, 6.0 i think it is. i don't need all the bells and whistles that come in that package, is there just a burn/copy version thats still available?
thanks again,

Nero is The Only Way(tm).

Well, on Windows at least.

6.6 Ultra is the only edition, but I think once you use it, you may find yourself branching out with other portions of the program. It's worth having around.

only thing i still can't figure out is how to make nero span data across discs like roxio

in roxio at work we burn tons of customer data backups that takes usually 4-7 dvds, if you add all that data in roxio it will automatically span it across that many disks, in nero it only gives you one dvd and just goes over the dvd
