There's no guarentee they'll stay MKM, and with no country of origin easily viewable on the packaging (last I checked), I don't know any way of knowing who it will be made by without buying them.

Hehe I was wondering the same very thing especially since they cost more than the Memorex (Ritek) discs. I almost bout a pack but decided against it maybe I'll try a pack and see. FWIW my Memorex DLs are still burning nicely using the Pio 109.

Well bought a 3 pack. Below is a scan of one burned at 4x using Pio 109 FW 8.50. Don't think it's too bad.

the 15pk says "made in China" on it.... but so far people have reported MKM001 code media, with decent results (like the above). I'd say it's risky, but so far results have been good. You might also get Ritek. There's also a chance they really ARE coming from a Chinese manufacturer.... but I don't know enough about them to say for sure.

If you *DO* buy a 15pk, I'd like to buy one off of you for my own evaluation. Personally, I don't want to spend $89 on a 15pk of DVD+RDL discs I might use 2 or 3 of at most.

According to this link which I got through: " videohelp + display all 8,5GB discs "
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?d ... List+Media

the brand Dynex might have both "MKM-001" or "Ritek-D01" codes
maybe for the same price ?
depending on where and when you buy them ?

Anyway I will stick to Verbatim branded DVD+R DL
with MID code MKM-001 ans MKM-003 in the near future
- because they are the only ones with which I had never any "freeze and chapter-skip" of the picture in a movie at the layer break position -

3 packs are in todays future shop flyer for $14.99 (CDN) (a savings of $8.00) so I am going to pick up two packs and see what they are like.

MID RicohjpnD00-001 (or something like that) - made by Ritek who makes all Ricoh Dual layer disc's these days (Ricoh quality ) - Ricoh disc's work very well (allmost as good as verbatim/MCC ) on some drives but are problematic on others thanks to there inversed stack procedure.

I bought 2 samples of these TDK labelled DVD+R DL in Europe
and their MID code is "RICOHJPN-D00"

I burned them in a NEC 3500 with latest firmware 2.19 without major problem

Are they as good as Verbatim with "MKM-001" code ?
Who is manufacturing them and where ?
are 2 good questions ...

maybe you will find some kind of a answer in these 2 links:

I just captured a 3 hour and 26 minute football game (from VHS source) and burned it onto one Dual Layer Dynex media and it worked perfectly.

Have no complaints and will pick up some more of these media while on sale.

BTW I tried the DVD in 4 different DVD players that Ihave in the house and it works fine in all of them.
