Comp Usa TDK +/-R 100pk DVD for $17.99? Is that correct? Seems real low. If true, im grabbing some. They probably are MIT, CMC for +R and TTG02 for -R. The TTG02 are decent media. TDK CMC's are said to be better than the standard CMC due to the use of TDK's dye.

Imation are made in taiwan and has 4 possible MID codes, MBI, CMC, PRODISC, and RICOHJPN02. The best of the bunch is RICOHJPN02. They burn at 16x on my Benq1620 and 12x on the NEC 3520 with firmware 1.UE.

Now deciphering which is which is well a crap shoot. I have heard and read that the RICOHJPN02 discs are in the cake box with no lip. The ones with the big lip on top are either prodisc or CMC. The ones with Made in India on the label will be MBI, which is better media than CMC and Prodisc.

Good luck and happy hunting. If i do choose to get these Imations, i will report my findings.

Based on the aforementioned deals, the best deals looks to be the Fuji 25 pk and Sony 50pk. Both of these media if MIJ will be Taiyo Yuden MID, excellent stuff for any burner.

The ones I got were RitekGO4 and I think they do 4x with my burners as far as the OD dvd disks go. They also seem to work fine in my Panasonic e-80h setop so I get them for cheap when on sale for it. They don't produce the best burns I've ever had but they are good and seem to playback fine so far. Of course I think it's a crapshoot what you end up with but that's what mine had about a month ago.
The Staples ones are CMC and work at 8x and 12x for the plus and minus in my burners, in case they go on blowout soon :)
