Maybe every 2 or 3 months we should have a reminder?

Yeah. I meant to contribute when the original thread was posted, but I didn't do it right away and, since I haven't been logging in too often lately, I forgot about it.

I'll consider this thread to be the reminder. Donation is inbound

i just hate those contextual links....

So do I!
I ran across them in the forum at CDRInfo a couple of months ago and visit that site even less than before as a result.

I realize that ads finance this place so I let them through, but putting landmines in the forum is not good style. I'd sooner have blinking lights.

And plenty more where those came from: http://www.flashingblinkylights.com/. (That's surely a URL with a certain appeal to nerdy electrical engineering types). It's amazing what you can buy on the Internet.

On a serious note, how are you doing? I hope well.

i know in phpBB you can make secret forums that only certain users can see. So i see no reason why you can't make it so that certain users that are login can hit up the site ad-free

I can't complain. I'm still fresh from holidays (2 weeks hiking in the Alps), there's lots of work at work (which is a Good Thing), and apart from a few aches and pains, I'm in good health.

A major time-eater at present is working my way into the innards of Avisynth and related tools because I'm finally starting with some VHS to DVD conversions (all irreplaceable old recordings that warrant some special treatment).

Nice to see you back cfitz! :D Hope to see you here more regularly, now that you've go 2 DVD burners!

It's called "time" and "energy" Monte. And it's not just a matter of making the site ad-free, it's also code to manage those who paid, their subscription expiration, and the additional benefits subscribers get.

Feel free to start coding your own phpBB mod that does what we need, and we'll glady use it. There are a few out there, but all need some tweaking for what we need.

Monte should know about time and energy. He's spent enough of it (and money) on that girl he wants to marry.

Good to know that you prefer trains and bicycles to the back seats of police cars.

I'm glad you are doing fine and enjoyed your vacation time. What hardware are you using to digitize those VHS tapes?

dodecahedron wrote:(who else would've found this flashing-blinky-thing site ???) :D =D>

Flashing and blinking lights are what motivated me to study electrical engineering in the first place, and I'm embarrassed to admit I'm almost tempted to buy one of those flashing thingies...

Thanks dolphinius_rex. You know I have to come back and see what the Dolphin King recommends whenever I need a new burner. :)
