The plus I got last time are MCC 004 and seem to do OK at 16x in both my BenQ drives. They Probably are too, mine were made in Taiwan, try to find made in Japan if possible.

Haven't seen MIJ Verbatim in AGES in the US. That said, their Taiwan made media has been excellent for me lately.. it's the only Taiwanese media I will happily buy.

Well I spose that is true, I just tend to like the MIJ stuff in whatever spindle it comes in. I never really researched who was actually based where. It does seem to be pretty good stuff anyways :D

Yeah, back in the 2x days, I got a few DataLifePlus spindles that were MIJ TY. Really high quality ones, too.

I just checked out my local Staples, or as I will now be calling it, "Your Home For Made in Taiwan media". *All* the Sony was MIT, and pretty much any other brand I checked out (for future sales) was MIT.

They didn't even stock Verbatim DVDRs for a pricematch to Office Depot...

Verbatim DOES have a plant in Japan... but it's used for R&D only, and you pretty much have to be sleeping with someone in the plant in order to get media from there

I went to Circuit City today and saw Sony DVD+/-R (8X) in pack of 25 for $8.99 each but made in TAIWAN, then I went to Compusa and saw Sony DVD+/-R (16X) made in Japan in pack of 25 for $19.99, when I show the ad from CC to the sales person she said we would price matched, so I end up buying 2 pack of 25 of Sony DVD-R (16X) MIJ for $8.99 each.

BTW: these discs are Sony 16D1 And burn @ 16X with both my NEC 3500 and BenQ 1640. You can see the results of burning in Recordable DVD section.

I just received my order of Verbatims from OD. After I am finished with my batch of Fuji TY 8x DVD+R's, I'll give these a burn.

I am using both brands (FujiFilm MIJ, and Verbatim MIT) at the present some how I like Fuji MIJ better and I think gives me beter quality of burning both with my NEC3500 and BenQ 1640.
