Thanks bill! I might have to hit Best Buy and see if they have any Made in Japan discs left. If I remember right, the colored Fuji's at Staples are Made in Taiwan.

Just got back from my local BB in SC. They had about 50 100Pack Fuji +Rs. Only 2 of the 50 were MIJ, all the others were MIT.

I guess it's true - Fuji is switching vendors !!!
Using Plextor 716UF...
Using BenQ 1620...
Thinking about BenQ 1640...
Would love a BenQ Blu-Ray...

Yeah, that's a shame. Those Fuji TY's have been good deal for a long time. Going to try to get away from work tomorrow to stock up.

If you're lucky, you can find Made in Japan colored discs... I went this morning (couldn't get to Staples yesterday) and dug through 50 -- maybe 100--spindles of both +R and -R. I was hoping to find -R TYs, but found one measly spindle of +R that was MIJ. I put it aside, kept digging, and finally left a bit disappointed that's all I got. I don't know if the MIJ was all snapped up yesterday or if they only had a very limited amount.

I was shocked to even find it... the sales people kept walking by me, not saying a word, but I'm sure they were wondering what I was up to. The Fuji sale media was all apart from the 'normal' media aisle on an endcap, and I was digging through all of it...

For what it's worth, and I think I read this on Fatwallet as well, the bases of the media spindles (which you can kind of see through the shrinkwrap, they are various colours and transparent) is much more vivid on the MIJ media. The MIT is much more pale.

(it doesn't help this particular Staples is Your Home For Taiwanese Media; every sale they seem to only get MIT! Sony, Maxell, etc... I got lucky this time!) It's kind of funny, I was just there Friday and picked up their entire remaining stock of the Verbatim DVD+/-R clearance discs (like 7 spindles.. no DL, unfortunately!)... they must wonder what I'm up to.

Kicking myself in the butt for missing the Verbatim DL deal at Staples. I went to two stores and did the same as you, moved everything on the display trying to find a diamond in the rough. No luck! In case you missed it, one of the psychic posters here said try ncix on thursday..

Thanks for the tip about the Fuji/ Japan spindle color :D . That will make the search easier on my eyes while I try to stock up on the TY.

Did you get the mid off of those colored Fuji's that you just bought?

You'll know a MIJ when you see it, it's a very deep translucent color and the MIT are very "sickly" pale looking in comparison.

I just checked one of the spindles, the MID is YUDEN000T02.
