http://www.licensing.philips.com/servic ... codes.html
(select dvd+r ->7th approved 16x code is optodisc.)
It took them some time but at least they got a full approval and not provisional approval.

They're one of very few companies who have actually gotten some sort of approval for 4x, 8x and 16x media in DVD+R.... pretty impressive for a Taiwanese based DVD manufacturer actually.

I gotta admit, I'm much more impressed with their 16x DVD+Rs then their 16x DVD-Rs... and with this we should see even better media support for them in the future.

How much the provisional for 8x DVD+R counts is the question.
(Is this parameter based or the playback based because Optodisc got really late added to that one.)

"we are pleased to inform you that the measured parameters are conform the specifications..."

I know English isn't the first language of the Philips engineers, but what were they thinking printing off that guff?

The Netherlands is near Germany, and in München (Munich) is the "Oktoberfest". Maybe the Philips-people drink to much "Maß Bier" (1 litre beer) ;)

Wow.. that looks like the stereotypical Wisconsinite. All he needs is a cheese hat and a Packer jersey.
