Oh, no. Heavens no.

It was an obtuse reference to the Good Guys stores (title of thread).

Then: "Good Bye Guys"

Which is to the stores which announced that they were shutting down.

I didn't know Good Guys was shutting down. Then again, we don't have any around here.

Ahhhh,

I didn't know there was a store by that name.

I'm glad to hear you aren't leaving! :)

I'm not sure how widespread the chain is, but we have a number here in SoCal. They are like a Circuit City or Best Buy without the PC stuff. They gave up trying to compete in that business 4 or 5 years ago.

Then several years ago, CompUSA bought the chain.

Then in the past year, they put mini CompUSA computer stuff departments in a number of the stores.

Now they are shutting down the chain, or least a lot of the stores.

I have one store close to my home and then another between my home and work.

I don't go to them very much.

I'm thinking that is probably a common problem for them.... probably why they're shutting down now :(

We never had any "Good Guys" stores in Michigan that I know of (though I've heard of them from when I worked in retail), but so much of my buying takes place online now that big box stores only get my business when I need an item immediately, or when an item is so bulky or heavy that shipping charges make buying online useless (i.e., major appliance).

I mean, I bought a Logitech X-530 5.1 computer speaker set last week for $37 online with free shipping. Locally you wouldn't find it for less than $80. I'd call that a no-brainer. Selection online is better too.

10-4, cfitz.

I have to be reminded from time to time that my understated style is so understated as to be obtuse. (Kinda' like this one. )
