having some problems with my liteon drive

Postby msuiter on Thu Oct 27, 2005 11:25 pm

i have a liteon 52246S CD-RW drive (52x/24x/52x). it was working just fine until last night. i burned some mp3s to an audio CD and it took a quite a while (actually went to bed). today, trying to play audio CDs (both CDRs and original), my drive is acting up. sometimes it will play for a while then stop. sometimes my computer will lock up or slow way down. a couple of times when i ejected the CD, my computer blue screened.

i had the lastest firmware but reflashed it to see if that helped. i loaded the lastest nvidia drivers for my motherboard but that didn't help. any other suggestions on what to do? also, are there any diagnostic programs to see if my drive is bad or it's my OS?

any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

Install the drive on some other computer & then test it.IMO the hardware is okay, there could be some problem with Windows.
