there you go i spilled the news

Some time these prices are %40 highier then they being advertised for %15 discount on sale.

Hey, what's 15% off those $33 6' Geek Squad USB cables? ;)

(and yes, a 6' USB cable at BB here is REALLY $33 when I went there a month ago, I went out to a rural Radio Shack near work and got a similar quality cable the next day for $10-12).

Abcron/Playo...any of you manufacturer gurus heard of these folks?

Playo is a brand made up by some desperate former Ritek USA employee's who got sacked for doing things that pissed off head office. The media uses fake TY code discs I believe. Nothing I'd recommend, THAT'S for sure! (Ian actually got some, so try asking him for more details  )

Ian, you have anything to say about this? ;)

It's true. They use TY MID's.. but aren't manufactured by TY. The discs don't have any markings so its very hard to tell who actually manufactured them.

Dynex cables are the same price here as GS ones at our BB. And just as big of a rip-off (and even at $30 a rip-off). No offense to you, Hox, I actually published a rant on this (somehow it never went up, maybe I fat-fingered a button) but it really cheeses me when a store charges a 300% markup on an accessory item because they know a customer will want to get their printer/scanner/toy that uses a cable not included with the device running immediately, and won't want to have to shop somewhere else. And when Radio Shack is the one that's less than half the price of BB for an item, you KNOW it's ridiculous.

In this case, helped my mom buy the scanner at BB. Told her I wouldn't let her be ripped off buying the cable there and found one at a reasonable price somewhere else. I think it's time I place an online order for a few and keep them around so I can help friends out by selling to them at cost when they're needed.

I don't guess you have any handy test burns/quality scans to report on, eh? If the quality is good enough, it still might be worth a gamble for $3 AR.

I'm not going to BF, after all.

I'm going to the Midnight Madness sale at CompUSA at 6PM, Wednesday.

Then I'll check their online sale starting at 12AM, CST, on Thursday. It will only be 10PM here.

That's easier than dealing with the crowds. Still, don't most of their "steals" require submitting 3 rebates for a single product? The stench of BS is great with that one.

http://www.bfads.net/ now has a search engine!

Very nifty feature if you're after something in particular (and don't have wads of cash to blow on every cheap-after-rebate product under the halogen lamps).

I had a major moral dilemma...but I may have to succumb and go to Wally-Mart.

Gameboy Advance SP - $48.88, regular price everywhere - $79.99

Also, they have laptops for $378, HP, AMD Sempron, built-in wireless.

And for all the WM specials this year - NO REBATES!!! The deal you get is the deal at the door.

I'm hoping a friend and his GF go, so I don't have to get in line, but if not, I'll be waiting somewhere at one of them prior to their opening at 5AM. I'll pick one of the small towns around here where the risk of getting trampled is low, rather than where I live.

Check the websites I and others have posted. Otherwise Walmart's ad has started to show up in mailboxes and Target's is online.

I'm glad I only have to worry about crazy sales like this on Boxing day!! It's bad enough having ONE massive day of crazy people/sales in a year, let alone 2!

I got back from CompUSA midnight BF sale I had to stay on line for 2+ hours before I got in, every sigle item has one, two or some times three rebate attached to it, I found no single item to justify BF sale to be interesting. As a matter of fact these sale prices are higher than regular weekend sale so I end up buying nothing.
