I have had problems with one of my DVD players not being able to read Ritek DL media, though it was burned on my NEC ND-2500A drive.

After I RMAed a bunch of Memorex DL media, I burned one of the replacement discs with my BenQ 1640 drive and that DVD player had no problems reading the disc. Not sure if they just sent me some "higher grade" Ritek media. Or if that 1 disc was really good. Or it was the combination of BenQ 1640+Ritek DL media that made it work, but I was pleasantly surprised.

When I have the need to, I will burn some more of the media on my BenQ and see what happens.

The CDSpeed Disc Quality scan came out "okay" on the media. I think it was like 85 for a total score.

Agreed... it's utter garbage. Just wait until the next Verbatim @ $2/disc sale. I'm sure there will be a couple more soon, and you'll be getting TOP NOTCH media :D
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

I know... but $2 a disc is a lot more than ~$1.36 a disc... so tempting!

It's 32% cheaper for Memorex.... so is Verbatim 32% better? I'd say a LOT more then that!! :wink:

You must be genius to RMAed that DVD disc I have never hard so far any one has done that. How did you convince the retailer or Manufacturer to give you RMA? how much cost you to ship back the discs? Was it really worthed?
