That's an excellent deal! Since it's one of the only ways to get an excellent above average drive, quite wisely OEM'd by Plextor. You can even flash it to a BenQ DW1640 and get even better firmware and software support :D

Too bad it's nearly impossible to get BenQ DW1640's these days when they aren't sold as other brand name OEM's.

Some people in another forum claim that they have bought this drive from BB and drive comes even with 20 D/L which is quite questionable since the price of 20 D/L DVD+/-R is atleast $60-$80.

Yes, that's what the ad showed but my local BB had a correction on the shelf next to the drives. The correction stated that the disks are single layer TDK's.

because bb corp sent out a memo that if the customer complains about the ad, give them 20 dl instead to compensate
people have been getting 2 packs of 10 verbatims, although at this point, i am more interested to learn the media id of the fuji 15 that is $34.99 instant
wish that coupon still worked...
edit: it was memorex 15 pk instead of fuji. nm

Well on Sunday, I purchase the Plextor 740A (black) for $31.00 (after rebates).

Yes, I got 20 TDK DVD-Rs (TTG02) in the box...
Yes, I did receive two 10-pack Verbatim DVD+R DL for free...

Could not pass up on this deal !!!!!
Using Plextor 716UF...
Using BenQ 1620...
Thinking about BenQ 1640...
Would love a BenQ Blu-Ray...

Hoxlund; What you have to say about the steal deal that beach hobo got from BB, are you still hiding the disclaimer from costumers?
