Install Nero Vision ONLY?

Postby Pilgrim on Tue Dec 27, 2005 4:02 pm

I'm wanting to convert a couple of .wmv files to .avi format and it seems that Nero Vision is the program I need to do this. However, Nero Vision is part of the much larger Package #2 that has several other programs included. Is there a way I can install ONLY Nero Vision since I don't have any need of the other programs in that package? Alternately, if the entire package has to be installed, can I uninstall the unneeded programs after the package is installed?

i think that with Nero 7 you can install only the parts you want.
not so with Nero 6.
Nero 7, being so buggy, i wouln't recommend it. use Nero 6 (installed along with all the stuff you don't want) in the meantime.

dodecahedron,

Thanks for the reply. I have no desire to upgrade to Nero 7 due to the fact that my needs are quite limited compared to most when it comes to CD/CD-R/DVD burning and especially video. So, Nero 6 is more than sufficient for me. Okay, so I'll go ahead and install the entire Package and probably uninstall it after I'm done converting the 3 wmv files to avi..... IF that is even possible. hehe

Thanks!

if you're not using the Nero software at all (including Nero Burning ROM) run the clean-tools to clean up the registry after you uninstall.

No, no..... hehe I use the programs in Package #1, e.g., Nero Burning ROM, Nero Express and Cover Designer mostly as well as InCD. Those I would NOT remove as I use them all the time. It's the programs in Package #2 (video related) that I would probably not have much of any need for any time soon after I convert the 3 wmv files to avi. :D

Dunno if NVE has a burning engine in it or hooks into Nero.

doesn't really make any sense for it to have a separate burning engine!

Nero Vision uses the same engine for burning as Nero. Just a different API for the Authoring portion.
