Possible to pitch songs on audio cd?

Postby sinetwo on Sat Jan 07, 2006 10:45 pm

Hi there!

I've been using nero for quite some time to burn audio cds, just drag and drop mp3s, quite easy... But there are certain songs i want to pitch up 8% for example - is it possible to do this in nero (plugin perhaps?) or do i HAVE to use an external program?

If anyone know's the easiest way to do this, i'd highly appreciate it.. (the pitch function in nero is horrible, only changes the octave, and the time function is also wierd, doesnt properly pitch the song)...

Thanks!

right click the file after you've added it to the audio compilation, select Audio Editor. it opens the file in Nero Wave Editor.
then select all (ctrl-A) and in the menu select Volume->Volume change.

maybe there's other ways too.

Good question, sinetwo. I'd be interested in hearing more about this also, if anyone knows.

dodec, are you refering to volume or pitch?

I use Audacity (freeware), not Nero for processing audio. You can easily change the pitch, volume or speed of a sample (even sampling rate, e.g. 48 kHz from DAT to 44.1 kHz for CDs). To change the pitch, mark your sample and use the "Effect | Change pitch" dialog (with musical and physical options built in). To change volume, use "Effect | Amplify" or "Effect | Normalize".

Audacity can generate MP3 files directly with the Lame plugin.

@dodecahedron- I think you're refering to volume, not pitch.

it's a damn shame i'ts not possible to do it in nero and preview, cause i'd just like to make a simple compilation and speed it up just enough for dance practice... but oh well, guess i have to do it the hard way.. SORT IT OUT NERO! :P

Nero 7 has this feature in the WAV Editor. We do not have pitch control in the WAV editor that comes with Nero 6.
