Philips Launches Veeza to stem licensing abuse

Postby dolphinius_rex on Wed Jan 18, 2006 5:59 pm

Regarding the launching of Veeza by Philips, as see on the front page (here's a link to the source):
http://www.licensing.philips.com/veeza/ ... s1231.html

I think this is a really smart move on Philips' part. Not only does this allow for easier tracking on their part, but it also offers a HUGE incentive for companies in HongKong or China to start playing by the rules.

It remains to be seen however, whether this will be enough to bring Princo over from "the dark side" :P

I wonder if they'll use this for DVD+R as well.

So, are they going to institute a "Verified by Veeza" program?
