Best "FREE" Cd to mp3 converter

Hi I am looking for a free CD to mp3 converter for a pal of mine - he is not very techy so we need something simple to use.

Please let me know what you all sugest.

Exact Audio Copy, but you will have to install the latest Lame-encoder for him!

eac or audiograbber, use lame mp3 codec with both

CDeX is supposed to be good and simple to use.
but i think everyone agrees that EAC is the best.

Do any of these have a burn facility to allow me burn the new mp3 to a disc

As others have said... EAC and Lame. Be sure to download the latest approved version of LAME... 3.97 b2. More info can be found on www.hydrogenaudio.org Look in the forums.

Don't know about the burning question. XP has burning built in and most burners come with software. I just use Nero.
