Postby Noua on Thu Jan 26, 2006 10:13 am

While surfing cdfreaks website I found the mention to the new firmware for the 110/A10.

So far the firmware is only avaliable at the japonese site but I'm pretty sure it will be released in Europe and America pretty soon.

Here's the link for the firmware.

I took the changelog from cdFreacks site. Hope I don't get into trubble for this...

Nice to finally see support for Verbatim 8x DVD+RDL and 8x DVD+RW!

I may have to finally concede that it's become an 8x DVD+RDL capable writer (the results of 8x recording on 2.4x DVD+RDL were crap on many drives, but ok on others).

I also notice that Pioneer has continued their long obsession with giving 12x writing support to 16x media from second tier manufacturers :roll:
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

Yes, its about time they supported Verbatim's 8x DVD+RW media. Now lets hope they didn't screw up the MID like a number of other companies have.

Here's the full list of firmware updates:

I've had my 110 for a few months now (maybe 3/4) and it works pretty good. Even bether then my A06.
I've been reading all the pros and all the negative stuuf on the drive and it really doesn't happen to me. Once thing I cannot speak of because I haven't tried yet. 16xMedia. It's still too expensive here, so I'm stuck to 8x media. Also, after too much money spended on media I just decided to buy good media and save some money.
I really like this one...

I dunno why the change log says it can now write to Daxon media at 12x. With the 1.37 firmware (maybe earlier?) you could write to their +R and -R at 16x.
