Postby dodecahedron on Fri Feb 24, 2006 12:10 am

why if i rip a DVD with Decrypter twice, ISO read mode, the 2 ISO files i get are identical but the 2 MDS files i get are not ?

for that matter, what exactly is the MDS file? what's it for?
yeah i know if i rip to DVD9 i need it for the layer break info, but apart from that what's it for ?

Hey dodec,
The MDS file is also used for FAT32 partitions, because of the 4GB limitation it allows you to burn multiple images. When using ISO Write you should always select the MDS file.
