IDE master/slave set for jumperless optical drive

Postby hazelem on Wed Mar 29, 2006 2:01 pm

within a peculiar PC-setup, trying to connect an obviously slave-set
notebook drive (jumperless) to play master role.
there is a utility at http://codeworks.cdfreaks.com/utilities.html
for the exact job, but it's for LiteOn drives - mine is an LG GWA-4082N
(new, OEM) and won't work with above utility.

waiting - since a week ago - for LG's technical department from their
UK-help-desk to contact me (...promises), i turn to you here for any
possible references to people who may know (technicians, dealers/oem's,
etc.). the drive is connected via a single cable and connector (44-pin,
notebook type) to the secondary board-controller channel, master-only
enabled.

thanks, with regards from budapest
