Lite-On Redoes Website

Postby Ian on Thu Apr 20, 2006 1:14 pm

Like the subject says, Lite-On has redone their website. Check it out:

In many ways its an improvement. My only complaint is the firmware download page. It's hard to see if there are new releases and it looks like a number of them are missing.

I'm not sure when you were looking- they seem to be redoing it at the moment. I get a "Page not found" message when I click on anything.

One exception- selecting N. America as a region takes me to an ancient edition of the website http://www.liteonamericas.com/us/index1.htm where the 1693S is the newest DVD-RW drive. :o

Huh? The SHM-165H6S is listed here:

You'd think they'd work out the kinks before switching it over.

You're right. But since I already have one of their drives, I just checked the download area, and that is antedeluvian.

They haven't been overly adept with the website in the past, so it doesn't really surprise me that they have transition problems.
