I've read a number of reports that the Magnavox 16x +R media is CMC MAG M01. The VideoHelp info on these disks is:

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?selectmedia=3980

VideoHelp shows the -R media as CMC MAG AM3

Bill--thanks for the info. I always check here on Sunday to see what's available.

Thanks for the information, look like the Magnavox is not that good of a deal knowing you can buy Verbatim DVD+R/-R 50 counts spindle for $14.99 which is way better media.

Thanks for the info on the Magnavox :D .

Hoping there might be better deals over the July 4th holiday.

Best Buy

Memorex (16x?) DVD +or-R, 50 for $15.
Fujifilm 2.4x DVD+R DL, 25 for $40.
Sony mini DVD+or-RW, 3 for $15.

HP 840RI is selling for $70 if you're looking for a retail box with software..

Free shipping on all camera and camcorder accessories... including the Sony mini media noted above.

CompUSA

Memorex 16x printable DVD +or-R, 100 for $30.
Sony (high speed) CD-R, 100 for $18.

Hi-Val model HDVD168DL for $50 after $25 Hi-Val rebate. Never really know what's in the box but it could be a BenQ 1640, edit- DQ60 or a Liteon. Unless there is old stock still around I doubt there are any 1640s.

Other than Sony, are there companies rebadging the BenQ 1670?

I don't know.. the second part of my answer is that I had a brain fart.

I'll edit the post to read DQ60 like it should have. Thanks for asking.
