PLEXTOR PX-716UF problems

Postby ricrat on Wed Jul 19, 2006 12:00 pm

I've had this great unit for over a year and now it's really slowing down and takes over 30 mintues to burn a DVD (at 8x). I use TY and have the
installed EX CD Creator--it used to work great until about a month ago.
Can I get firmware updates--or what? I've read on other sites that owners just give up and throw the unit away! Never happen with me.
I like its 8megs of buffer, too. Do I just have to tolerate this slowing down or can it be fixed?
Thanks for any help.

Are you using USB or Firewire?

I tried to download the firmware upgrade and got the "driver not found" message. How can that be?
I'm using USB.

That and the long burn times makes me think it might be a USB issue. Have you updated your USB or chipset drivers lately or installed some software that might cause problems?
