My BenQ 1640 just died!

I have had trouble with the drawer sliding out, it kept sticking. Well today it just froze. Little hole for emergency release, no go.

Dang, it was only 1 year old this month.

I guess I will have to check the reviews, again and see what's great.

Sorry to hear your drive has died A friend of mine had two DW1620s die one after another in 6-9 months.

I would get a DW1650 as the replacement and not look back. It can do just about everything the DW1640 can do, and in my experience, it's a slightly better burner than the DW1640.
