Ritek DL media

Postby MonsterMan on Sun Sep 17, 2006 4:44 pm

I have heard that Ritek DL media burns fairly well in the 111D...right now, it's my most under-used drive. So to give it something to do (with non-critical stuff), which DLs should I order for it?

And where would be the best place in the US to order it? Meritline? Rima? Something else?

I'll be getting a SHM-165H6S, too...a drive that looks to be able to burn at least some Ritek DL media at 8x...
BenQ 1655, BenQ 1620, LG 4167, Plex PX-716SA, Samsung SH-S162L, SH-S182M, Pioneer 111D, Lite-On SHM-165H6S and 1.9TB of HDDs to feed 'em and an X2/4800 to crunch for 'em.

I still suggest to not buy ritek 2.4x media. TO much variation and to much problems.
The 8x stuff however might be usefull if you keep in mind that it could be possible that it burns slower as 8x on some drives.

The 8x was the media I was looking at...I'll pick up a few and hope for the best :)

The 8x media isn't supported by a lot of drives yet. I'm sure it will in time though.

Based on my information I say wrong. QUite some drives do support it but also quite some drives limit it to 4x and 6x (why do have speciall strategies for it.) It's not CMC MAG D04 :-)

From MonsterMans 'sig it should work in the following drives:
BenQ 1655( BOTH), Samsung SH-S162L(s04 only ), SH-S182D(S04 YES /D03 ?), Pioneer 111D (S04 only)

Well, I'll order some Friday and see how it does :)

Is there a better place to order this stuff from than meritline? Rima.com doesn't have any of the 8x stuff :(
