Postby marinemaster on Fri Sep 29, 2006 10:21 am

Hi,

I cant find any more the Fuji DVD+R made in Japan.
I can find the made in Taiwan and made in China but no way i am buying these.
I cant find at BB or Fry or any other place.
Any ideas were to find welcomed.

Welcome to a year ago :P MIJ Fuji hasn't been widely available for over a year. Fortunately, there are a few good alternatives.

The first one that comes to mind is the Verbatim media that goes on sale frequently at $0.26-$0.30. This week, Best Buy has Verbatim 16x DVD±R 50pks for $13. Personally, I prefer the DVD+Rs.

Another good option is Sony branded 8x TY. This week, Staples has Sony 8x/16x DVD±R 50ks for $15. The key is to look for 8x stock that's made in Japan, with an white octogonal spacer on. If your Staples doesn't have MIJ 8x stock, you could try pricematching at Sears where stock moves much slower :D

Been allover the palce.
Finally found the Sony 8x Japan TY at Frys
I bought the last 4 they had. 50 pc each. I paid $29 for each. Expensive.

In my original question I do remember at Frys few months ago they had tons and tons of TY Japan +R and then all over sudden just dissapeared. I do remember buying TY 8x +R 50 pcs for $13.99 then I should have bought 10 or even 20 cases. Regret it now.

Thanks much for the input

www.rima.com is generally considered the best source of Taiyo Yuden in the USA.
