Nero Recode failures

All of a sudden Recode is causing me problems! NEVER had this stuff happen in Recode before. Had some minor probs with part of the App, but this is more serious. Any opinions on what might be causing these failures. What might "unexpected exception" be? The "unexpected failure" is what's pi$$ing me off!

Looks like the problem is only when it attempts to burn to disc. Can you confirm this by selecting the option to write to Hard Drive instead? Does it then work succesfully, and you are able to play it from the Hard Drive?

And if it does work this way, then try using the Nero Express or Nero Burning ROM program to burn the Video_TS folder to a DVD. Does this work or do you still get burn errors?

Hello again and thanks Craig.....
I'm not sure if I follow your thoughts for sure. Let me say that I have the video files ripped to the hard drive from where I can import and watch them in Recode on the preview screen with no problems. I thought the Recode process was to be able to compress the video files and enable them to be burned within Recode. To jerk around as you suggest won't, I think, reduce the video file to burn within Burning Rom or Express to fit the DVD alloted size I specify. It is just as easy for me to run the files through Shrink and let 'er go! Recode is (WAS) so much faster to recode the video file. Maybe I'm not following your train of thought and I apologize. At one time I could just take a ripped video file, import it into Recode and it shrunk it to fit and burned at once. To do otherwise with a file is not doing what I think Recode was meant to do.

Hi Corporallouis,

Actually, it will. Your still 'compressing' them to fit onto a 4.7GB DVD disc, but instead of burning to disc with Recode, or your just writing it back to the Hard Drive.

And then from there you can grab the newly compressed Video_TS folder that Nero Recode created, and burn it to a DVD using Nero Burning ROMs DVD-Video option.

This will just confirm that the Compressing portion of Recode is working, and the issue is just with the burning.

And it will let us know if Nero Burning ROM has the same burn issue as Recode or not.

It's not a fix, just a step to troubleshoot.

Sorry to take up so much space here, but this is driving me nuts so I tried another. I took files that I ran through Recode and put into a folder on my hard drive and inserted them into Burning Rom and had a successful burn.
I assume this would suggest a problem with Recode sending files over to burn as you earlier hinted at. I don't know what happened in my previous post about out of memory! All I know is the second attempt worked. Now if I can just get Recode to send those files over..... :evil:

You had me worried there for a second, as the 'Out of Memory' was a completely new issue as I did not see that in previous log you posted.
