What media to use for a specific writer

Postby malkyr on Wed Jan 17, 2007 9:39 pm

Hi all,

I have just bought myself a lite on shm-165h6s. I read the reviews and it indicated that it has issues with some media.

This might be a noob question but is there a list of what media is known to work well with specific writer models?

If someone has the model I purchased can you recommend what brand of media I should be using to get optimal results?

Check this review from this site

To me, the scans for Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD -R look best, but maybe there have been firmware updates since the review which might have improved results with other media.

Regardless of the brand of your drive try use Sony, Fuji (MIJ) and Verbatim media.

I like the Fuji made in Japan too. Have some and never had a problem.
