Notice how flash memory is starting to become quite the competition to optical media now?

Word on the inside is that the trend is expected to continue.

Some are hoping that Blu-Ray will emerge as the dominant HiDef format so that it will hold of the flash memory recordable media takeover for a little while longer.

Actually, quite a few optical media brands are getting concerned. Maxell for one has no way of being competitive in this growing market, and they're losing ground quickly.

Yup, and that's actually much more expensive then I've seen before. I've seen 1GB SD cards go for $5.99 with a $5 MIR (Canadian pricing). 2GB pricing is usally between $19.99 and $22.99 (again Canadian).

And these prices seem to be dropping still.
