Mitsubishi and Maxell Announce 8cm BD-R/RE Media

Media manufacturers are really throwing their support behind Hitachi's new Blu-ray Disc camcorders. I wonder if we'll see this stuff in the US.

Neither company has revealed pricing.. which means its probably expensive. :-?

These discs are a joint effort between Hitachi Maxell and Mitsubishi/Verbatim, so either one claiming to be first would be accurate :wink:
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

TDK/Imation has announced 8cm BD media too:

MSRP is $25 for BD-R and $35 for BD-RE :o

Imation Introduces 'TDK Life on Record' Brand

Already putting that TDK brand to work...
"Life on Record" sounds pretty cheesy though...
