Hello,

I have Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 v3 and wonder if it will correctly detected the Pioneer DVR-212D SATA DVD writer? Does anyone have this combo of motherboard DVD writer? Any issues with the two? In the pass SATA DVD writer were just nightmares so I am checking for experiences.

That has an Intel chipset right? If so, I don't think you'll have many problems, especially if you disable AHCI.

If you plan on running SATA hard disks in AHCI mode, I would personally stay away from SATA burners at this time. For best results, it seems that you need to run your SATA ports in IDE compatibility mode on Intel chipset boards, which of course disables Native Command Queuing and other features of the SATA interface.
