good DVD writers?

Ok im looking for a pair of good DVD writers that have good performance. I dont really do much ripping, and I doubt I will be copying movies, but more using it for backing up files and installing newer games and software as some of them are moving over to DVD and I would like to have fast speeds, and maybe lightscribe if its not a big sacrifice for performance. Any ideas? I was looking through the reviews and saw the LG GH-20N has been getting good reviews but I figured id check here first before I purchase.

hell if SATA would be better, ill go with SATA

It depends on your computer. If its older (2-3+ years), you may have problems, depending on the chipset used.

As far as good drives go.. my top picks would be the Samsung SH-S203B or SH-203N. LG and Pioneer also have some good SATA drives.

There are only a few slot loading drives available, most of which are for laptops.

Also, you shouldn't have any problems with that computer.

Could someone explain what the various suffixes differentiate?

Besides LightScribe, the only real difference between the various models is the supported media.

For none SATA drive you will be in good ssape if you can find any BenQ drive (1620,1625, 1640, 1650,1655) either retail or OEM repackage. It is hard to find but worth looking for it.
