Widescreen to fullscreen?

When I burn movies(avi,divx..)and I watch those on my tv(4:3) I always get black stripes on top and bottom.I know why(widescreen 16:9).
All I want to know,is there any way or any software to convert widescreen to fullscreen,so that I can watch movie without those stripes?

Sure there is but you're going to lose some of the video along the sides.

I'm not an expert at video editing so I'm going to refer you to videohelp.com. They should have a tutorial or two explaining what you need to do as well as the software required.
