That SecurDisc technology sounds really cool.
From reading the article it sounds like SecurDisc provides two features:
1) Password protect your discs
2) Enables an LG drive feature where it will warn you when your disc is degrading so that you can copy the data to another disc.

And that slim drive looks very slick! I wouldn't mind having that sucker attached to one of my laptops. 8)

Anyone Try E50 Slim Yet?

Postby kahunanui on Tue Feb 12, 2008 12:19 am

Thinking heavily about getting GSA-50L from The Egg. Has anyone been using this yet? Need it for mobile use w/ Notebook.

We prefer the NON-Lightscribe E50N but doesn't look like it is available in US yet? Can anyone confirm that also?

Can anyone let us know where to get the additional cable for added power if needed? Believe it is some kind of "Y Cable" for USB?

Thanks for the help!

I've got the SecureDisc symbol on my burner. And when I set it up it asked when whether I wanted to use SecureDisc or not.

Also SecureDisc is explained on the leaflet which came with the burner.
