Samsung model numbers/letters

Postby Silentbob343 on Sun Mar 09, 2008 9:53 pm

I will be building a new rig and will finally upgrade to a newer DVD writer. Looking at Samsung drives, but see two model numbers 203B & 203N. What are the differences between these drives?

I've also noticed BEBN and BEBE designations on some of the drives listed at Newegg as well. What do these refer to?

Ahh the N series supports lightscribe. Wonder what causes the 203N/BEBN model to cost $6 less than the 203N non BEBN?

BEBN and BEBE are OEM codes. If I remember right, BEBN includes software and BEBE doesn't.

Ian,

Thanks, I figured that's what they were, but couldn't tell from the newegg pics. Looks as though they use the same pics for the various model numbers.
