New Hard Drive - Recycler Folder?

Postby audiodrome on Thu Jun 19, 2008 3:32 pm

I just installed a secondary hard drive (Western Digital WD Caviar SE 320GB) on my computer and after partitioning and formatting the drive, I found an empty "RECYCLER" folder in both volumes. What is this and can I delete it?

The Recycler folder is used by Windows' Recycle Bin. You can delete it, but it will come back if you send files on that hard drive to the recycle bin. It's probably easier just to leave it there.

There will probably also be a "System Volume Information" folder that is generated by Windows.
