cant install Nero get a 7-zip error

I am running Vista 64 bit, I installed nero 8 then it crashed so i uninstalled it and rebooted machine ever since then I have been getting an error when I try to install the program.

The error statesaccess denied 7-zip.

Any idea what is wrong? At the moment I am being forced to use Roxio but I cant adjust as I have been a Nero usr for years and am used to it.

Somebody please hep a thick and new Vista 64 bit user

Give the Nero 8 CleanTool a try.

Maybe you have a corrupt download. Re-download and check the md5sum. Nero still posts it on their download site. There are various freeware tools available to check the md5sum of a file. It's probably overkill for most, but I use the open source, OpenPGP encryption package GnuPG to check md5 checksums:

D:\>gpg --print-md md5 Nero-8.3.2.1b_eng_update.exe
Nero-8.3.2.1b_eng_update.exe: 56 0D 9E FE 20 4E 9F DD CC 29 03 D8 93 FC A5 EC

If the MD5 checksum matches, perhaps just try installing the open source compression tool 7-Zip.
