Looks like Mom's computer is toast, so I'm giving her the Dragonslayer system and it now has her (the one in this thread) newest DVD burner and her old Lite-On LTR-52327S. Funny, I never had the chance to burn CDs with that in my old system, but now the bezel is painted black and it goes back to her soon. The reason I'm posting is what's the best place to find the latest firmware updates for the GH22LP20 DVD burner? Thank you.

EDIT: both of us will run XP for a couple more years and I'll upgrade both of us at that time to Win8.:)

LG has a firmware update tool but I could never get it to work for me. Otherwise you can grab the 2.00 firmware here:

I've got their firmware update tool installed here again in win7 ultimate and it works though they've buried it so deep it's hard to find to install now. Here's a link to a rapid share download of it if anyone wants to try it https://rs356tg2.rapidshare.com/#!downl ... e|2235|R~0
This one worked for me and even auto updated itself to the newest version after I installed it again after realizing that I didn't have a copy of it installed anymore and I remembered them having one I used that worked.
