Looking for High Speed 10x+ 700mb CD-RW media

Postby BoGMan1a on Thu Jan 01, 1970 6:02 am

Anybody seen media fitting this description? I have searched around my area and can either come up with 4x 700mb or 10x 650mb media, but I can't find this combo. The reason I want them is that I like to burn VCD's to CD-RW first to make sure I got a successful VCD and then copy to CD-R so as not to waste CD-R's. But since all my CD-R's are 700mb, I either have to burn real slow or waste 50mb (5 minutes) which kind of irks me. Anyways, I have searched the mainstream websites ( OM, Office Depot, Staples, etc..) and haven't found them there either so if you know where I might find this type of media, please respond.

Online is the way to go! The best deal I have seen is at Newegg; 50 Lead Data 700MB 10X CD-RW's for $34 (that's including shipping).

If you need less than 50, let me know and I'll do somemore searching. Usually a 10-pack costs over $12 (shipping not included), so the more you buy, like the Newegg deal, the more you save.

Hey, thanks for the responses!! I think I am gonna do the online thing, but probably in a lesser quantity as I will be re-writing to them as soon as I dupe them to CD-R so I probably can get away with 10 or so. But this will be a great way to go for my VCD's and some of the new copy protected audio coming out.

Hey, thanks for the info!! I'll be ordering the 25-pack tonight. This should be just the ticket for all those times I have doubts as to whether or not a burn will turn out right. I really appreciate the time you took to find these sites too.

It's my pleasure. After all, you were nice enough to post the great deal on the LG GCE-8240B at CompUSA. It was the least I could do. :)

I asked this same question about a month ago.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... sp?Id=0202 they seem to have the best selection so far.

For $9.99

12X rated for $8.99

For $12.99 Memorex. I've heard nothing but bad stuff about these:

They had 2 other brands about a week ago, but it was 'while quantities last'. :D

Supposedly Tigerdirect is bad, check out the reviews. They had that whole phone card ordeal and I'm sure they give our your personal information to companies so you get spam (both in Email and snail mail) and telemarketers. The last thing I need is more spam.

I rescind my comment about TigerDirect. I ordered some CD's from them a month ago to find out for myself how good/bad they were, and I was shocked to find no spam in my Emailbox or snail mailbox. The transaction went very smoothly, and customer service was kind on the phone when I spoke to them.
