why philips burners lack in performance ?

Postby hammad on Wed Nov 20, 2002 12:18 pm

i just read the review of philips 40x burner and i am very much dissapointed with that ,it doesnt even come close to the cheapest burners like BENQ and AOPEN. I just remember my first hardware review i read on CDRLABS (my first review read on internet ) that was of PHILIPS 20x burner and i was amazed by the looks of the drives as well as performance IAN gave it a perfect 10 for performance (probably the first burner on CDRLABS to get a perfect score) because it can read CDRW at full speed and was the fastest 20x burner ,i was thinking that PHILIPS was and still is the Pioneer of the optical media and drives from cdrs to SACD and mountrainer to DVD+r they are involved in almost every development that optical industry come across but they cant make a drive that can do EFM encoding fast and accurate, i wonder what ther engineers are upto,i think they have to be DEAS SERIOUS about that, am i right or wrong :)
