CD-R/W SPEEDS

Postby vxd*.* on Mon Nov 18, 2002 1:00 am

I installed a 12x8x32 r/w in a amdk6-128mb-ram, 56xcd-rom, 13 GB hdd.
If using a disk labeled 1x12, should the r/w perform properly?
Also I have installed Easy CD CReator 5.0, could this be the problem, as the system locks periodically with this software installed.
Would NERO or REPLICATE be perferable??
THANKS.

I can't think of any reason why the 1 to 12x media shouldn't be compatible with your 8x RW drive unless the media is "bad" or "low quality" or your burner is picky with certain types of media.

More clarification is needed on the other question.

Are you trying to use R/W or CDR discs? I'm guessing RW's.

If so, then are you trying to use Easy CD or Nero to write to it like a CDR?

Or are you trying to use the RW as a "floppy" where you can copy, erase, stuff onto it "at will"?

If so then you need to use either Direct CD from the Easy CD, or InCD from Ahead/Nero.

Personally I like Nero for general CD creation use.

Just for interest sake, what was the "bad media"? It would be even better if some ATIP info can be included.
