Anyone WinXP users out there installed this yet? v3.37 was absolutely horrible - blue screens and it just didn't work.

Again, just in case anyone from Ahead is lurking here - You need to begin a change log for InCD as with Nero. We need to know what bugs have been fixed and what has been changed. How do I know that the WinXP problem has been addressed in this new release?!!?

I had no problem with InCD v3.40 and it can be updated to InCD v3.51.61 as well.

Ahead is taking steps to provide more information no InCD Bug Fixes, as well as pending bugs needing to be addressed.

We are aware that we have put more attention in Nero than our Packet Writing software, and we are taking steps to address this.

I did download the INCD 3.51.61 and install it, burnt CDRW with no problem at all. This version works and is compatible with winXP with no problem anticipated. Recommand it to any one so far.

Yes, it works very well with _freshly_ formatted CD-MRW.

I'm amazed at the speed improvement! When I mounted a CD-MRW formatted previously with 3.31, in just 2 secs I got a BSOD with

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
***STOP: 0x000000A (0x661DB887,0x00000002,0x00000001,0x804ECP6C)

The disc of course became unreadable...

Please report your experiences with CD-MRWs formatted by earlier versions of InCD (but backup your data first, unless you don't care!).

Yes, 18 seconds for a CD-MRW disc.

Just over 5 minutes for the old style InCD format, plus about 2:30 to scan for defective sectors.

I didn't see any speed selection in InCD. I'm not sure what speed it was at, as there's no speed display in InCD.

For comparison, here are my results for InCD 3.51.61, LTR-48125W V08 on XP Pro SP1, using Platinum CD-RW 80min/700MB 4x-12x.

Formatting CD-MRW takes several seconds as for Spazmogen; more mouse cliks than running, so who cares?

For a standard CD-RW (non MRW), physical format takes 7:50 min, logical format takes 2:48, so 10:38 min in total. Not too bad compared to Spazmogen's >7:30, who probably used a faster burner and media (and maybe a 74min/650MB disc?).

The InCD help file (look for it...) is outdated, and still mentions the rewriting speed option which disappeared a long time ago.

BTW, InCD reports 50KB used, 572MB free for CD-RW, whereas CD-MRW has 539MB free.

So performance is quite fine; let's talk about RELIABILITY!

presumably Spazmogen used his 24x CDRW disc for the regular format too. and his burner rewrites at 24x CAV. indeed faster than your 12x CLV.

Program Files\ahead\InCD\InCD.hlp; call up in Explorer and click Index, or anything else that's clickable (doesn't work in normal way). But you won't find anything you didn't know... Enjoy!

PS: There is also an InCD manual on Ahead's site; apparently outdated as well.

After using the OEM InCD 3.39 to format a 10 x CDRW [Verb. DataLifePlus 650mb], everything works fine.

Then an upgrade to InCD 3.51 caused problems for my RW's. They were unreadable and in some cases, the data was corrupted causing me to reformat the disc [I decided to go back to 3.39].
