CD Burning Speeds

Postby HeartBurn on Mon Nov 25, 2002 9:22 pm

I'm trying to understand the meaning of the numbers on the front of my burner... 32x12x40x. I found the following web site....

http://www.webopedia.com/DidYouKnow/Har ... urning.asp

Considering the speed they use in their example I'm wondering if what they have written there is still true today.

Can anybody help me with this? Thanks

Yes, nothing has changed - what they wrote is still true. Your drive writes CD-R media at 32x max, rewrites CD-RW media at 12x max, and reads at 40x max.
