Burn baby burn!

Norcent 48x12x48

Postby Cwhmd1 on Thu Dec 05, 2002 7:54 pm

I got one of these Bestbuy Black Friday deals. Installed it without a problem. Now it will burn, but won't autoplay CDRoms or recognize CD directories. I am using windows XP Pro and CD Creator PLatinum 5.0 (updated).
Thinking about taking this thing back- thought someone might have a similar problem or a fix.
Norcent tech support told me that it is NOT a rw-j481-s, it is a new model - RW481 and no firmware is available. In fact, it is not even listed on their website. And, it is too new so they can't help me!?! Need some help!

If you right click on the CD burner drive in My Computer and choose properties their is an AutoPlay tab.

Found my problem - it is not compatible with ez CD creator 5.0.
I removed the program and my problem was solved, can anyone suggest another good burner program?

Nero Burning Rom is very good.

I updated to the latest version of Easy CD Creator 5.3 and it works fine with my norcent drive. As for another program I reccomend the copy of Nero that came with the drive. I hope Norcent will release a bios upgrade soon (not betting on it), the drive is still a slow burner compared to my Lite-On.

Problem with NORCENT RW481

Postby kvramana77 on Tue Jan 25, 2005 10:12 pm

I had been using the Norcent-RW481 CD writer for last one year with no problems. For last onw week, I have been getting a strange issue with this. When I try to read any cd (audio/video), it reads only for the first time after my PC is booted. The next time onwards, when I load the cd, it will not read the cd and I do not see the cd in the cd drive on My-Computer either. Now if I shutdown the PC and start again, then it is able to read the cd again. This problem is repeating randomly. Can anyone has any suggestion to resolve this. Appreciate your help!!
