hi everyone, im new on the forum. but i alwayz visite the site for reviews on drives & info.

I have a old cd-writer Ricoh MP7040A (4X4X20X), i turned it into a MP7060A (6X4X24X)

i wanna get an opion on something.

shoud i go for MP7080A (8X4X32X)

any objections to this.. if it doesnt work i bring it back to the old firmware!

You could try, but remember, with any firmware upgrade, there is a chance that you could mess up the drive and make it dead. Question: if you want an increase in speed, why not buy a new CD-RW drive all together? They are cheap now.
