Who makes Buslink CDRWs?

Postby JYoung on Thu Dec 19, 2002 12:44 pm

I saw a Buslink 48x16x48x as Beast Buy for $69.99 with $50 worth of rebates!!!

I am curious who manufacturers these burners.

I am thinking it is LiteOn because the box says that it features SmartBurn® technology and I thought that was a LiteOn feature.

Thanks.

That's the most common question around here.

I'd recommend using the search feature, but it's not working lately.

So:
Buslink is shipping OEM Lite On's. I bought a 48x12x48x BusLink and found a 48x24x48x Lite On LTR-48246s in the box!

Nero identifies the drive as a Lite On. The only thing Bus Link about it is a box & a printed manual. Everything else is OEM Lite ON.

Mine was an open box right after Thanksgiving, so I was able to verify the Lite On before I bought it. When I saw the 48x24x48x I didn't dare put it back down.

For the price you saw it for, GO BUY IT!

I have bought two Buslink drive psst three months LTR-48125W and LTR52246S, both Lite-On and as Spazmogen mentioned both were Lite-On OEM in Buslink box, with Buslink installation Manual but Lite_On CD-R disk.

The ones at Best Buy as far as I've seen have always been Liteons. The ones at CompUsa can be Liteons or A open or who ever use justlink or whatever it is. They either say Smart Burn or justlink so it's easy to tell.
